Donny Galella is a Sydney based fashion stylist, makeover guru & fashion writer.
Donny is one of Australia’s leading fashion stylists; his vast styling portfolio includes: photo shoots, runway shows, dressing celebrities on the red carpet, hosting style & makeover stage shows. But his number one passion is helping everyday Aussie's look good and feel amazing about themself through fashion.
As a stylist his specialty area is personal styling and makeovers, having performed over 450 makeovers in the last four years, crowning him as Australia’s answer to Carson Kressley or a one-man 'Trinny & Susannah'. Donny is committed and passionate about helping everyday Aussies feel more confident and positive about their self image. Donny’s extremely down to earth nature combined with his innate understanding of the real Australian consumer, gives him the extraordinary ability to style his clients, no matter their age, shape, size or shopping budget.

Donny is part of The LifeStyleYou Channel (Foxtel) as their online fashion & makeover expert. Donny is excited to be part of the LifeStyle You family, because he is now in a position to help women all around Australia.
In 2009 Donny was named as an official ‘Westfield Fashion Stylist’. This role has seen him hosting makeover and style stage-shows, fashion workshops and offering one-on-one style sessions at various Westfield locations. Donny had the honour of sharing the stage with his style hero's Gok Wan and Trinny & Sussanah. Westpac even engaged Donny’s style services to train front line staff on the importance of image, personal style and grooming.
When styling his clients, Donny was frustrated at seeing gaps in the fashion market. So he established his own, self titled label ‘GALELLA’ in 2004, with a range of women’s headwear and accessories. By 2008 the label expanded to address the growing demand of fashionable yet affordable menswear in Australia. The self taught designer’s first three headwear collections quickly earned him the title of ‘Milliner to the stars’, and was stocked at leading retailers around Australia including Myer.
In May 2007, GALELLA made its Australian Fashion Week debut, creating a range of elaborate fabric corsages for the 'Madame Marie' label. Over the past two years, Donny listened to the growing demands of the modern man, and identified a gap in the menswear market that required servicing. GALELLA menswear is available at over 32 retailers and has generated a strong celebrity fan base. The GALELLA label has been worn by celebrities including: Sir Richard Branson, Sophia Loren, Carson Kressley, Kelly Rowland, Peaches Geldof, Patrizio Buanne, Jennifer Hawkins, Kate Ritchie, Alex Perry, Melissa Doyle, Ada Nicademu, Kylie Gillies, Larry Emdur and many more.
Donny aspires to make fashion more accessible to a wider audience. He aims to break down the fashion barriers and make fashion more fun and user friendly for the masses. Donny shares his views on style & fashion via a weekly fashion column for The Wentworth Courier Newspaper & 'The Southern Courier' Newspaper. He is also the fashion contributor for 'Life with Style' Magazine, he has a fashion blog and since April 2011 Donny chats weekly on 2UE with Michael Smith. Donny has an estimated combined print circulation of over 150,000 people per week.

The fashion industry is extremely competitive and hard to crack. Donny is immensely proud of what he has achieved in the fashion world over the past six years. “Many people in the fashion industry are born into wealth, I didn’t have wealthy parents to bankroll my dreams. I have worked damn hard to build my career from scratch. This is why I understand what it’s like to be an average Aussie, on a limited budget. I love showing my clients you can look just as good, shopping at the cheaper stores. I am also a real case study proving hard work and following your dreams can pay off”.
He is a strong believer in fate, family & friends. He does everything with pure determination, passion and commitment. From a very young age, he knew exactly what he wanted to be 'when he grew up"' Now that he is living his dream, he is extremely happy and grateful, and wishes that everyone in life could be blessed with discovering what makes them happy.
